SEO Conferences USA 2027: Dates, Prices and Which to Pick

SEO conferences USA 2027: nine US and Canadian events already have full 2027 dates, led by SMX Advanced San Diego (Mar 17-19), Relevance, the renamed SEO Week (New York, Apr 6-8), and BrightonSEO San Diego and Ahrefs Evolve Austin, which clash on Sep 9-10. MozCon and Pubcon have not announced 2027 editions.

I checked every event below on the organiser's own site on 24 October 2026, and where I had to lean on another source I say so. A lot has moved since most "best SEO conferences" lists were written. SEO Week has a new name, Ahrefs Evolve left San Diego for Austin, and SMX Advanced now runs twice a year.

Which SEO conferences in the USA have confirmed 2027 dates?

Here is every North American search event I could verify, in calendar order. Prices are the organiser's own figures with the date they apply to. Where a price or date isn't on the official site yet, I say so instead of guessing.

Both SMX Advanced editions sit on the same Search Engine Land page. The Boston edition was announced on Search Engine Land in July 2026 as the first time the show runs twice in one year.

SEO conferences USA 2027: a quarter-by-quarter plan

Most people pick one big event and one smaller one. Laying the year out by quarter makes the clashes obvious.

January to March

SMX Advanced San Diego (Mar 17-19) is the only dated US search conference in Q1. It is held at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. Speaker pitches for it close on Nov 6, 2026, so if you want to speak and miss that, look at the Boston edition instead.

April to June

Relevance runs Apr 6-8 at Halo, 28 Liberty Street, in Lower Manhattan. This is iPullRank's conference, which ran as SEO Week in 2025 and 2026. The new name tells you where the content has gone: it is now billed as "The AI Search Conference", with days themed on how AI systems pick brands, strategy and content.

DigiMarCon Canada lands in Toronto at the end of April. WTSFest Portland follows on Jun 3 at Jupiter NEXT. Tickets for Portland aren't on sale yet, so sign up for the alert.

July to September

September is the crowded month. UNBOUND (the new name for HubSpot's INBOUND) runs Sep 8-10 in Boston. BrightonSEO San Diego and Ahrefs Evolve Austin both run on Sep 9-10, so you have to choose one.

SMX Advanced Boston follows on Sep 20-22. Then WTSFest Philadelphia closes the month on Sep 28 at Convene, 30 S 17th Street.

October to December

Content Marketing World heads to Nashville, Tennessee, and says only "November 2027" so far. State of Search ran its 2026 edition here (Oct 19-20, Grapevine), and Tech SEO Connect (Nov 5-6, Durham) and GEO Conference (Dec 4 New York, Dec 9 San Francisco) hold theirs in the same quarter. If they keep the pattern, expect 2027 dates in the same months, but none is announced yet.

What happened to MozCon, Pubcon and SEO Week?

Three of the most searched US events have changed, and most listicles still show old information.

MozCon. Moz now runs MozCon as the "MozCon Roadshow", a series of single-day events rather than one big annual show. The official page currently sells only London on November 13, 2026. Third-party event listings such as GrackerAI (not an official Moz source) say the 2026 New York stop was on July 14. There is no MozCon 2027 date anywhere on moz.com yet, so any "MozCon New York Summer 2027" date you see elsewhere did not come from Moz.

Pubcon. The Pubcon homepage currently features Pubcon Pro Virtual on January 14, 2026, a live online day on GEO and AI search. The most recent in-person edition I could confirm was Pubcon Pro Austin on June 19-20, 2025, listed on Yoast's events page (a speaker's listing, not Pubcon's own). Pubcon has not published a 2027 date yet, so check pubcon.com before you plan around it.

SEO Week. seoweek.org now redirects to relevanceconf.com. Relevance 2027 is the same team (iPullRank), the same city and a similar spring slot. If you searched for SEO Week 2027, this is the event you want.

Is Ahrefs Evolve 2027 still in San Diego?

No. Ahrefs Evolve ran in San Diego in 2026. The 2027 US edition is Ahrefs Evolve Austin, Sep 9-10, at the JW Marriott Austin. Ahrefs calls it its biggest Evolve of the year.

The ticket listing on Accelevents shows $749-$1,299. Ahrefs has also negotiated a room rate of $339 a night at the venue hotel for attendees. The series also runs in Singapore (Apr 14-15) and London (May 26-27). Those are in the worldwide directory.

Which SEO conference in the USA is best for you?

There is no single best SEO conference in the US. It depends on what you want to take home. Here is how I would split it.

• You want advanced, practical SEO sessions: SMX Advanced. It is run by Search Engine Land, the agenda is aimed at people who already do the work, and you now get a spring and an autumn option.
• You want the biggest SEO crowd for the least money: BrightonSEO San Diego. A day ticket is free, and the full two-day ticket is $550 until Dec 3, 2026. It shares the San Diego Convention Center with Hero Conf, so PPC people are there too.
• You care most about AI search and getting cited in LLM answers: Relevance in New York, or GEO Conference once it dates 2027. Our list of AEO and GEO conferences for 2027 covers the specialist events.
• You are a technical SEO: In my view, Tech SEO Connect in North Carolina is the closest thing the US has to a pure technical event. Watch its site for 2027 dates.
• You want community more than content: WTSFest Portland or Philadelphia. One day each, community-run, and a good room for making friends in the industry.
• You sell to marketers: UNBOUND. It is not an SEO conference, but the people who buy SEO services are there.

How much does an SEO conference in the US actually cost?

The ticket is often the smaller half. At Ahrefs Evolve, three nights at the negotiated hotel rate ($339 a night plus taxes) already cost more than the cheapest $749 ticket.

Use the official numbers to build a real budget:

1. Ticket. From $0 (BrightonSEO day ticket, SMX Expo+) to $1,699 (UNBOUND general admission). Most dedicated SEO events sit between $550 and $1,300 on early pricing.
2. Hotel. Ahrefs Evolve's negotiated rate is $339 a night plus taxes, and SMX Advanced's San Diego room block is $359 a night plus 13.75% tax. BrightonSEO sells a ticket-plus-three-nights package at $1,680 on its early price, which is a useful benchmark for San Diego.
3. Flights and food. These depend on where you start. Add them before you compare events, not after.

Early pricing deadlines matter. BrightonSEO San Diego prices rise on December 3, 2026. SMX Advanced's $1,295 All Access rate ends on December 19, 2026. If your company approves budgets in January, ask now.

How do you get real value from an SEO conference?

In my experience, the talks are the part you can get from recordings. The value is in the people you meet, and you have to plan for that.

Book meetings before you fly. Check the speaker list and sponsor list, then email the five people you most want to meet. A 15-minute coffee booked in advance beats hoping to catch someone after a talk.

Go with a link and PR plan. Conferences are full of editors, agency owners and in-house SEOs who run blogs and resource pages. You are not there to pitch links in the hallway. You are there to become someone they recognise when your digital PR for SaaS pitch lands in their inbox in April.

Write something afterwards. A useful recap of the talks you saw is easy content, and speakers often share it. That is a small, natural way to earn attention, and sometimes links, from people who were in the room.

Pitch to speak. Speakers usually get a free pass, which is the cheapest way into the expensive events. For SMX Advanced Boston, the SMX pitch page lists the form as open from about March 22 to May 17, 2027 (SMX says the dates are approximate). Smaller events like WTSFest and State of Search are easier rooms to start in.

Are there free or cheap ways to attend?

Yes, and some are good.

• BrightonSEO San Diego day ticket: $0 for one day, every stage.
• SMX Expo+ pass: free, with keynotes and the expo hall at SMX Advanced.
• SMX Next: Search Engine Land's free online event. The next edition is November 18, 2026, with recordings on demand until May 2027.
• SEJ Live: Search Engine Journal's free live webinars with several sessions on one topic.
• Google Search Central Live: there is no ticket to buy; you apply for an invitation and Google picks attendees. Its first Canadian edition was in Toronto on April 21, 2026. No 2027 North American date is listed yet.

What about Canada?

Canada's calendar is small. DigiMarCon Canada in Toronto (Apr 29-30) is the only dated 2027 event I could verify. It is a broad digital marketing conference, so SEO is one track among many. Regular passes are CAD $797, and DigiMarCon also sells a virtual pass.

Google brought Search Central Live to Toronto for the first time in 2026. If it comes back in 2027, I would expect it to be the most SEO-specific event in Canada, and you apply rather than pay.

Which US SEO conferences have ended or paused?

Three names still appear on older lists:

• SearchLove (US): the last edition was San Diego in early 2023, billed at the time as the final one. SearchLove's site now says Rough Agenda, the company behind BrightonSEO, has acquired the brand and is planning what comes next, but no date is published.
• TechSEO Boost: the last edition of Catalyst's free technical event I could find was December 2019 in Boston. Tech SEO Connect is the closest replacement.
• MnSearch Summit: MnSearch still runs local events, but its old summit page now redirects to the homepage and no summit is listed.

If a "best SEO conferences USA" article gives a 2027 date for any of these, it did not come from the organiser.
